About

Roehampton University Rowing Club (R.U.R.C.) is a mixed gender rowing club based at Barn Elms Boathouse in Putney, along the River Thames. The club was started in 1995 and in 2012 it was awarded the Club of the Year trophy by SportRoehampton. It’s an award that we again strive towards in the future!

We have a range of boats that include both sweep and scull, which come in a variety of sizes which allow us to adapt to the needs of specific races. The mantra of the R.U.R.C. is that we train hard (a total of two mornings, one evening, and a fitness session on a Monday evening at the MUGA Courts of Froebel College) and we socialise hard. We aim to be well-rounded and fun, to provide a place to make the lifelong friends that you normally find in clubs and sports. Our club is a warm and welcoming environment where we encourage competitiveness alongside the social aspect of being a part of a university sports team. With excellent coaching staff and good facilities, our rowers are able to work towards their own personal goals, no matter the level.

We are an up and coming club which has shown great levels of success in the past and in the future we have ambitions to race at more BUCS events and hopefully at higher levels, we are optimistic that the club will grow in both size and success.
